Welcome Corps and SCN
SCN interacts with Welcome Corps in the same way that it supports individuals that come through formal resettlement agencies.
As a community-based organization, we provide direct services that complement and continue the post-resettlement process. We do not provide the services required by resettlement agencies or Welcome Corps sponsors, traditionally labeled as reception and placement (R&P). After an individual or family coming through Welcome Corps has been in the United States for 90 days and resides in Illinois, they are eligible to receive all of SCN’s services listed further down.
SCN does not facilitate or support the completion of Welcome Corps applications.
If you have questions about Welcome Corps, the process of becoming a sponsor, or how to complete the application, please see Welcome Corps’ website.
SCN will not assist with:
Housing or furnishings
Setting up utilities
