Al Peters, Director of Immigration

Al has worked with SCN since 2017, initially in the Case Management program, and since 2019, as the Director of the newly established Immigration program. In this capacity, he has obtained accreditation for himself and recognition for SCN from the Department of Justice to represent clients in immigration-legal proceedings. Al was a Neubauer fellow in the Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations department of the University of Chicago in Comparative Semitics, where he obtained his doctorate in Comparative Semitics. As a recently naturalized U.S. citizen, he has experienced first hand the work that SCN’s Immigration program performs.
