To all those who are observing, we hope this final week of Ramadan is joyful, enriching, and meaningful for you and your families.

As the month of Ramadan comes to a close, we would like to announce our final, multipart Ramadan Weekly Challenge!

1) Write a “Eid Mubarak” letter to a Syrian refugee family!

As with the month of Ramadan itself, Eid al-Fitr, the holiday that follows the month, is traditionally spent surrounded by family and loved ones. Living in a new place and often separated from extended family can make Eid challenging for Syrian refugee families.

We challenge you to do what you can to make your new community members feel at home during the holiday!

Letters can be mailed to or dropped off at our office, located at 5439 N. Broadway Unit 1, Chicago, IL 60640.

2) Continue donating to support our efforts to serve Syrian refugees!

Our goal is to reach $25,000 by the end of Ramadan. Every little bit helps make it happen.

Donations can be made through our Facebook fundraiser or through our website.

3) Plan to attend World Refugee Day 2018!

Later this month, Chicago has two events planned to commemorate World Refugee Day. We hope you will join us and other organizations supporting refugees in Chicago. You can learn more and contribute to the cause here.

Thank you for your participation in our Ramadan Weekly Challenges! We are grateful for the engagement and enthusiasm of our community.

We are also happy to announce that all of our children have been sponsored through our #ChicagoDoesEid2018 campaign. Thank you to all of our donors for bringing joy and love to our children!
