Since the Syrian revolution and subsequent unrest in Syria, nearly 4 million Syrian refugees have been registered by the United Nations. The United States Government has committed to placing hundreds of refugees in the U.S. this year. Many of these families are being settled in the Chicagoland area. Having left jobs, homes and family in Syria, these families will need to get back on their feet, form communities and become integrated into the broader society. To this end, the Syrian Community Network has committed to easing the transition for these families. We are looking for committed families in the Chicagoland area to help, by “adopting” a refugee family.
